Evaluation
My final piece is a poster of the rapper, Notorious B.I.G. My
first choice was Akira Toriyama (Creator of Dragon Ball) but due to the lack of
photos of him, I changed it to Biggie smalls as he’s my favorite rapper and
there’s more photos on him online which I can use. I was originally thinking of
doing a CD Cover when I changed it to Biggie Smalls but I believed my final project
would be much better if I done a poster instead as it would be much simpler to
do.
I did follow my plan as I did a poster of biggie smalls on Photoshop,
although InDesign was another option but I chose not to because I’m better with
Photoshop and I was struggling to use it. I researched his background Info, his
Name, why he’s famous for my plan but when making it I researched his
birthplace, birth name, Occupation, and his best-selling album.
I had problems with finding photos for the original person I
was making the poster for but I struggled to find photos of him on google apart
for one which wasn’t in good quality and I also struggled to use but my
researched information in my poster so I had to shorten it.
My poster went really well as I managed to fit my research
into my poster nicely. It slightly communicates with my ideas because I got the
idea to posterize biggie in my poster from this poster:
What went less well was trying to show biggie’s hat in the
poster as it was white and the background was also white. If I could repeat
this process I would’ve made the biggie smaller so I can fit more information
and also change the quote to something more iconic. My poster shows that he inspires me as the quote I used, "Everything you get ya gotta work" is a quote that really inspires me.
